Subject Selection

All students are to note the following details:

Selection Period: 28 Dec (10 am) 2007 to 04 Jan (5pm) 2008

(Do look out for the e-poly highlight)

• Who needs to do Selection?
• All students, except students going for MP,SIP, are allowed to do selection
• Students meeting graduation requirement now will not be allocated. If you do not clear all your subjects after supp, enroll the subject during the Subject Enrolment period when term starts.

• What is Cross Disciplinary Subjects (CDS)?
• CDS is a requirement to graduate
• All students (Except students with direct entry into Level 2)must fulfill at least 9CUs of CDS
• Students can choose CDS offered by any school
• All CDS are graded
• Core + CDS must not exceed 30CUs in 1 semester
• CDS does not have supplementary examination

• What is Elective?
• A partial fulfillment for graduation requirement
• List of subjects offered by course for students to choose
• Students must fulfill certain CUs based on the individual course
• All electives are graded
• Electives + Core + CDS must not exceed 30CUs in 1 semester

• What is Option?
• Cluster of subjects offered for students to choose
• Students must attempt and pass all subjects in the option that they choose
• All option subjects are graded. Student will be removed if they fail the same subject twice
• Electives + Core/option subject + CDS must not exceed 30CUs in 1 semester

• Students cannot select the same subject if he has failed it twice for CDS and elective
• Student who fails any subject (Elective/option) will not be considered for Diploma With Merit or Director List
• Attendance affects the grade of your subject and hence Grade Point Average of your result. So attend your lessons regularly
• Students do not pass ALL subjects this semester may have the Allocated CDS/Electives removed during Academic Progression

• 2nd window period of enrolling CDS?
• Subject Enrollment period: 1st week of term April 21 – 25, 2008 (Date is subject to Change) (1st come 1 served basis) Location is : EN12-3-15 (Hall of Excellence)
• No adding or dropping after 1st week

• Inter-disciplinary Project – Entrepreneurship.
• For those who have a passion to be a boss running his own business one day.
• Choose GEN1901And learn how to develop a plan for making money.

• SIP Students
• Students going for MP, SIP next semester (April 2008) will not be allowed to select during this period
• Students who are not eligible for MP, SIP, after this semester result release, can select their CDS during Subject Enrolment period (April 21 to 25, 2008 ) (Date Subject to Change)

Here is some screen-shot for better understanding..

#1: Log-in your student account inside Temasek Polytechnic website.

#2: Read for more details by clicking on Announcement at the top left corner of Student Portal.

#3: A pop up should open and click under Acad Matters tab, you will see only 1 link for ENG students (eg. as below).


#4: You will see a list of CDS, and what it's offering and stuff (at the bottom of our ENGINE site).

#5: On left column, click on the Online Services (and choose Subject Selection)

#6: Key in your Admission Number (eg. 123456A) and followed by your barcode number (TB123456) and click enter.

#7: You will come to this page (eg. as below)..


#8: Make your choices in ascending order of preference, 1 being the 1st choice, 2 being the 2nd choice and so on.
