Okie.. Naan was the best, I'm dead serious.

First time in my life, drinking such a big bowl of clam chowder/mushroom soup

Err.. 4 human + Infinity zombies... wad ya think?

Food Review:
Offers plenty of choices (sandwich, wraps, soups.. )
Very filling, as most of the food are bread stuff.
But the soup is way too big.. fyi, my order is in SMALL.
Well, at least the prices is not as ridiculous.
Many customer finishes their food, except Dawn and I. Goodness, are we that 'CMI' ? Hee!

Game Review:
Completed the game in 1hour time.
10/10 scary (if ya watched 24days later, or I am Legend ~ ya get wad I meant)
Multi-Player is the BEST, can become zombie and pawn those survivors - haha!

Hi guys, I got a few things to spread out to you.

1) CCN event confirmed: Photography taking. Wang, please submit the form by Monday 2nd Nov. All M-754 students have to participate, I expect FULL attendance on the date itself (unless with valid reason). Thank you.

2) With effect from next Monday, 021108, I would appoint a new treasurer 2I/C to help out Wang. Class committee members are to carry on with your part, anyone not willing to help out any individual or fulfilling their duties will be revoke/replace.

3) Attention to all, what do you guys intend to do with our class fund (S$100) for this year? Mdm Judy suggested to have pizzas, during APEL 2 lesson *of course. Haha! Once again, I leave it to you guys to discuss, always feel free to voice out.

4) Our present class strength is left with 19. I hope this number will not drop by the end of term. Thus, I hope none of you are giving up your studies. Er, Alif.. we spoken this morning, if you can't get any help, please approach Mdm Judy or I shall get a counsellor for you?

Subject Exemptions

Hi guys, recently some of the student been asking regarding subject exemption and stuff, here's the detail;

Application for Subject Exemption

For full-time students using ITE (Higher Nitec) or Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ level results only

(Application Deadline: First Friday of the semester. Late application will not be considered.)

Please read the following instructions and regulations carefully before completing the form.

1 Exemption is not automatic. You must apply for exemption using the official application form. Application is open during the School Orientation Week.

2 Only one application per student is allowed. Multiple applications will be rejected.

3 Prior learning experience must also not be obtained more than 3 years from the date of application.

4 Exemption cannot be granted for subjects that were earlier granted exemption in your previous studies. You will also not be considered for subjects you have attempted in your course of study at TP.

5 Obtain approval from your Course Advisors/ Course Manager for the subjects that you wish to be exempted. Bring along the original copy of your ITE transcript/Statement of results from all semesters or ‘A’ level results slips(s) for verification.

6 A confirmation on your exempted subjects will be sent to you by post in 3 weeks’ time from the approval date. Please note that you MUST continue to attend lectures for all subjects unless approval for exemption has been granted.

Do take note that Principles of Dynamics (PRNDYN) and Engineering Mathematics 3 (EMATH3) carry quite a high amount of credit units. Please try to focus on these subjects, and all the best to everybody.

Application for financial schemes – Closing date - 21 Oct 08

Kindly take note of the following if you wish to apply the following financial schemes:-

CPF funds to pay tuition fee only

Please login to CPF website to submit online application. Alternatively you may obtain the manual application form from CPF website. Please submit a photocopy of the online / manual application form to Finance & Admin Collection counter at Level 7 Lobby D before the closing date. The Finance & Admin Department will claim the money directly from CPFB to pay your tuition fee.

Post Secondary Education Account (PSEA) funds to pay for tuition and other fees

Post Secondary Education Account ( formerly Edusave) can be used to pay for your tuition fee and other fees ( exclude late fee). Government has recently announced on the top-up to eligible Singapore PSEA. Please call 626... to check your PSEA fund balance. Enclosed is the PSEA standing order if you wish to apply for the scheme. You would need to submit this standing order to the Finance & Admin Collection counter before the closing date.

Tuition fee loan to pay upto 75% of tuition fee only

Tuition fee loan can be used to pay up to 75% of the tuition fee only. The tuition fee loan application form for AY08/09 Semester 2 is available at Finance & Admin Collection counter. Student & the student’s guarantor need to submit the application form to any DBS bank in person. Student need to submit a copy of the tuition fee loan form duly endorsed by DBS bank to the Finance & Collection counter before the closing date.

We encourage you to submit your application early or by 21 Oct 2008 so that the funds can be used to settle your tuition fee and other fees (for PSEA only) before the stipulated due date. Please note that there will be a late fee of $15/- for any payment after the stipulated due date.

Ahh.. it's been a super duper tiring week for me, as I have attended 2 big gaming event of 2008. First was the Compaq Amd Pro-gaming League (CAPL) held last week and as for this week, I'm at Gaming Convention Asia 2008, World Gamemasters Tournament (WGT) 2008 observing all gamers in term of their performances and gaming ethic.

"The CAPL Autumn 08/09 Elite Category officially concluded on last Saturday at E2Max @ Cineleisure. The main highlight of the was the DotA Match between Team Impreza and Team XtC. Team Impreza, which boasts one of the strongest lineup for this competition, is currently one of Singapore's top team and a DotA powerhouse in Asia. On the other hand, Team XtC, formerly known as XqR, is led by starplayers like Ice and Ant.

After an hour of gruesome battle, Team Impreza eventually managed to dethrone Team Impreza and went on to defeat Vendlus and Sweety to be in the finals, only to lose to Team Zenith to take 2nd place. - CAPL Admin"

Hip Hip.....Hurray!

Finally the long & busy exam week is OVER! It's time to "pamper" ourselves.. kekee!

Good luck to all those whom put in tons of effort during the study week. Hope you guys score well, and of cos for those who didn't do well for certain subject, please dun get dejected nor too upset about it.

I would like to thank Mao^2 for spending her own time guiding our M754 boys, includes me.. hah! Well, that's concluded our very first year in Temasek Polytechnic. Personally, as for myself, I had made quite a number of friends... from NS buddies to former ITE classmates. It's a wonderful moment, even though there have been UPs and DOWNs for a few of us.

Nevertheless, I still likes to hang out with my classmates cause they're indeed very interesting. All of them have their own ALoU (Advantages, Limitation to Overcome, Uniqueness), for e.g Alvis -a.k.a Emo Champion, tends to be super-duper emo when comes to some issues and yet very approachable and friendly. MuAhahahaa~~!! Another example, we have Malik - a.k.a the "M" hunter, although he may look "decent", but in his inner side he's a "wild hunter" (ladies watch out, j/k!)

Alright, enough of my thoughts and stuff, let's talk about you guys:
What you people intends to do, during y'all long vacation?

Alvis.. now you know where our $ gone to?

Apparently, those so called ex-convicts selling pen in Orchard Road are… nothing but scammers. If you have ever donated to them, and got a stupid pen, then just treat it as a lesson learnt. Unless, the pen they gave you isn’t working. Then you ought to be banging your hand on the table and screaming out…

Actually, I shouldn’t label those people collecting money/selling pens scammers, according to the article they are unaware of the ‘charity’ activities/background at all. So basically they are just the victims of a larger scam organisation.

To those who have yet to click the thumbnail and read it, do so now!

If you want to donate, the best way to do so is by doing it online or giving the money directly to the organisation.

There are a lot of other scams going around Singapore (mostly MLM related), for example putting in $6000 and getting back 100000% or a gazillion percent of your $6000. That’s sort of stuffs, similar to Ponzi Schemes. Or even on a smaller scale, like this $2 scam.

Again, do not donate to people on the streets without tin cans, even with a license, it may not be genuine ;).

The school of ENG is organising a study trip to Kyushu, Japan.

Date: Mon 29 Sept - Sun 5 Oct, 2008
Cost: About $2100 for 20 pax and about $2000 for 40 pax

You may use Edusave/PSE to pay for the full study trip or up to the amount available on your Edusave/PSE account. However, full payment of the trip must be paid in cash. Upon return from the trip, you need to fill in a form to authorise withdrawal from your Edusave/PSE account. Parent's signature is required if you are under 21. TP will reimburse you after it has received the $ from CPF. The process will takes about a month.

You can call 6260 0777 to check the balance on your Edusave/PSE account by entering your NRIC no. and following the instructions given over the phone. The government has deposited S$400 into your account in March 2008, so you should have at least this amount.

Singaporeans do not need a visa to travel to Japan. For other nationalities, you have to apply on your own, Malaysian - S$20, Chinese - S$50.

How to make Fried Rice?

What You'll Need to Make Fried Rice

The classic Chinese comfort dish, it's believed that fried rice (Chao Fan) originated in the city of Yangzhou in eastern Jiangsu province. Made with barbecued pork, shrimp and spring onions, Yangzhou Fried Rice is still the standard by which all other fried rice dishes are judged. But you don't need to follow a special recipe to enjoy fried rice - it's a great way to use up leftovers.

This basic fried rice recipe makes a nice alternative to steamed rice as a side dish, or you can turn it into a main meal by adding meat/seafood and vegetables. (If you are adding other ingredients, increase the number of eggs to three).

Basic Fried Rice Ingredients

2 green onions, finely chopped

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon salt

Pepper to taste

3 tablespoons oil for stir-frying, or as needed

4 cups previously cooked rice, at least 1 day old

1 – 2 tablespoons light soy sauce or oyster sauce as desired (see Add the Seasonings for more suggestions)

Ingredients to make Basic Fried Rice

Prepare the Rice

The most important tip in making fried rice is to use rice that has been previously cooked. Using previously cooked rice helps keep the dish from turning out wet or mushy. While you can use rice that has been cooked the night before, 2 or 3-day old rice is even better.

Gently rub the rice between your finger to break up any clumps (this will help the rice cook more evenly).

Beat the Eggs

In a small bowl, lightly beat the eggs with a fork or chopsticks until they are frothy.

Scramble the Eggs

Heat a frying pan or wok on medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons oil, swirling so that the bottom of the pan is coated. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium and add the eggs.

Cook the eggs, stirring, until they are lightly scrambled but not too dry. Remove the eggs and clean out the pan.

Add 1 tablespoon oil, swirling so that the bottom of the pan is coated. Add the rice. Stir-fry for 2 - 3 minutes, until the rice is heated through.

Stir in the soy sauce or oyster sauce as desired.

Note: Traditionally, the Chinese do not add soy sauce to rice. If you like, you can serve the dish plain, without the soy or oyster sauce. Another option is to add a small amount (1/2 - 1 teaspoon) of XO sauce or thick soy sauce, or to use 2 - 3 teaspoons of dark soy sauce - these will give the rice a darker color.

Why do you call it "Good" Friday?

Calling the day of the Crucifixion , ‘Good’ Friday is a designation that is peculiar to the English language. In German, for example, it is called Karfreitag. The Kar part is an obsolete word, the ancestor of the English word care in the sense of cares and woes, and it meant mourning. So in German, it is Mourning Friday. And that is what the disciples did on that day—they mourned. They thought all was lost.

I’ve read that the word good used to have a secondary meaning of holy, but I can’t trace that back in my etymological dictionary. There are a number of cases in set phrases where the words God and good got switched around because of their similarity. One case was the phrase God be with you, which today is just good-bye. So perhaps Good Friday was originally God’s Friday. But I think we call it Good Friday because, in pious retrospect, all that tragedy brought about the greatest good there could be.

I can see virtue in either terminology. If we call it Mourning Friday, as in German, we are facing reality head on, taking up the cross if you will, fully conscious that the Christian walk is seldom a walk in the park. But if we call it Good Friday, as in English, we are confessing the Christian hope that no tragedy—not even death—can overwhelm God’s providence, love, and grace. Either way seems fine to me!
